THE CENTER OF THE WORLD FESTIVAL
Create a Digital Storytelling Video!
No Formal Art Training Needed!
From the Native American naturalistic storytelling to cutting-edge cognitive right-brain art processes to modern technology—we will guide youth and their parents on a journey of self-discovery. This program is sponsored partially by a grant from Kern ArtsNow! We will help you tell an oral story, draw art (or use clipart) for the visuals, and then convert your creation to storybook digital video format. This video may be posted on our Nonprofit YouTube channel (Center of the World Fest), and be viewed via your cellphone or home computer by all your friends and family. You will also receive a DVD copy for personal use.

We also invite you to showcase your digital storybook at the Center of the World Festival held in August 2012 in Pine Mountain Club, Gazebo. You may win a $200 cash grant prize!

The theme is Eco-drama. We are seeking stories about humankind’s relationship with nature, either positive or negative, to bring awareness of our ecological challenges. The August Festival begins with Native American Storytelling. Following that, your digital storybook may be shown as part of a “Video Film Festival” of storybooks which qualified for grant competition. We encourage you to work in collaboration with other youth—perhaps one or more creating the dialogue and others providing the art work.

Please call us at 661-242-1583 to learn more and to set up a personal meeting.
If you are not local and would like to submit a video, please read the Submission Rules and complete an Application Form.
